In Osaka, takoyaki is a must-try food. It started here and is loved all over Japan. Your local guide will bring you to a popular stand where you can enjoy these hot octopus balls. At the same time, you can learn about the special takoyaki culture of Osaka.
Sushi is one of the most famous Japanese foods. The Tenma area in Osaka is full of sushi restaurants. Your guide will take you to a local favorite shop where you can enjoy fresh seasonal sushi, such as salmon and medium-fatty tuna that melt in your mouth. If there is a certain fish you want to try, please tell your guide and they can order it for you.
Wagyu yakiniku is very special. A5 beef is so soft that it melts as soon as you eat it. At a local BBQ restaurant, you can taste different cuts like kalbi, harami, ichibo, and tongue. You can also enjoy local beer or highball with the meat. If you like, you can try extra items such as kimchi, yukhoe, or even grilled marshmallows.

After eating and drinking a lot, the best way to finish is ramen. Osaka has many ramen shops, and your guide will choose one based on your taste. There are many kinds such as tonkotsu (pork bone), chicken broth, seafood broth, or dipping noodles called tsukemen. A hot bowl of ramen will be the perfect way to end your food tour.

The tour will finish after ramen. But if you want something sweet, your guide can recommend local sweets or ice cream. If you still want to enjoy the night, your guide can also suggest good bars in the area.

Dive Into Osaka’s Local Food Network

All our guides are locals and friends with the shop owners or staffs. In Osaka, people chat with strangers over dinner—it’s part of the fun. We’ll bridge you into the city’s food scene so you can experience nightlife the Osaka way.

Comments from the planner

I may not be a chef, but I am a guide with a true passion for food. What started as taking friends around Osaka for casual food-hopping has naturally grown into this tour. Travelers often have limited time here, so my goal is to help you experience as many of Osaka’s best flavors as possible within that time. I constantly keep up with the local dining scene—”researching” and selecting restaurants that showcase the city’s culinary culture at its best. We usually visit small private restaurants, so we limit the maximum number to 6. Osaka is Japan’s Kitchen, and I look forward to guiding you through its incredible food, making sure you leave satisfied and inspired. Come hungry.
