- 10:05 Arrive at the starting point of the Yoshida trail from the base, “Umagaeshi”
- 10:10-10:40 Have a light meal at the mountain hut “Daimonjiya”
- 10:45 Departure
– Climbing “The Umagaeshi” trail
- 14:00 Arrive at the 5th station and have a short break at the mountain hut “Sato-goya”
- 14:50 Arrive at Subaru Line 5th station and visit Komitake Shrine
- 15:10 Depart from Subaru Line 5th station
– Climbing “The Ochudo” trail
- 16:20-17:30 Arrive at the mountain hut “Okuniwa-so”. Have a late lunch, take a walk, get souvenirs
- 17:50 Depart from Oniwa (Okuniwa) bus
- 18:40 Arrive at Fujisan station and disband

Meet the guide at Fujisan station
Please ensure you arrive at Fujisan Station by 9:30 AM. It takes 2 hours by train from Tokyo (or 3h by bus). Your guide will be waiting for you at the station to assist with handling your luggage, and your journey will start from this point. Lockers are available at Fuji Station for luggage storage.

Depart from Fujisan station by taxi
We’ll arrange a chartered taxi to go to the start point of the “Umageashi” route. Your guide will help you check your gear.

Arrive at the starting point, "Umagaeshi"
We’ll arrive at the starting point of the “Umagaeshi” route in 30 minutes by passing the forest of the foot of Mt. Fuji. “Umagaeshi” is the starting point of the Yoshida Trail at the altitude of 1450m at the base of Mt. Fuji. It once had four mountain lodges in the vicinity and was a popular spot where climbers who could go no further on horseback would turn their horses back and begin their ascent on foot.

Have a light meal at the mountain hut "Daimonjiya"
This is currently the only mountain hut operating on the Yoshida trail between Umagaeshi and the fifth station. Daimonjiya, which operated for a long time from the Edo period until 1964, and it was revived and reopened for the first time in 56 years in 2020.

Please ensure you arrive at Fujisan Station by 8:00 AM. It takes 2 hours by train from Tokyo (or 3h by bus). Your guide will be waiting for you at the station to assist with handling your luggage, and your journey will start from this point.

Climb the Umagaeshi route
Before the advent of cars and railways, reaching Mount Fuji’s summit required a long trek on foot. And, horses could only ascend halfway due to the steep terrain. Therefore, there used to be many huts, stone monuments, and stone markers to welcome climbers, and the route to the fifth station was very crowded. This original pilgrimage path fell into disuse after the construction of the Fuji-Subaru Line for vehicles. However, recent efforts to maintain and revitalize this historic pilgrimage route have seen a gradual increase in visitors.

Arrive at mountain hut "Sato-goya" at the 5th Station
Sato-goya is operated all year round at an elevation of 2,230 meters and is open for overnight stays even during the winter season. The delicious homemade pudding made by the hut’s wife is recommended for energy charge.

Arrive at the Subaru Line 5th station and visit Komitake Shrine
Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station, the gateway to Mt. Fuji on the Yamanashi Prefecture side. It is located at an elevation of approximately 2300 meters, you can see the view of the Fuji Five Lakes and Japanese alps. There is a Komitake Shrine which built in 937 in the area and we’ll visit there.

Depart from the 5th Station and climb the Ochudo trail
The Ochudo trail is traditionally, only those who had climbed Mount Fuji three times were allowed to walk. It was considered a sacred path for ascetic practitioners and pilgrims who could walk around the middle of the mountain.

Arrive at Okuniwa Hut
Okuniwa hut is a charming spot nestled in the scenic surroundings of Mt. Fuji. The friendly staff at Okuniwa hut provide warm hospitality and serve delicious meals, including homemade lingonberry juice that’s recommended.

Depart from Oniwa(Okuniwa) by bus
From the 5th station, we’ll take the local bus to get back to Fujisan station. It takes around 40-50 minutes to Fujisan station.
