3 Day Pilgrimage tour

Mt. Fuji
3 Day Pilgrimage

a spiritual journey to purify and seek blessings

Point of The Tour

A spiritual journey to purify and seek blessings

Experience mountain climbing as an act of worship. Before the climb, you will stay at an “Oshi no Ie” (Pilgrims’ Guest House). The “Oshi” is an occupation and they played a vital role in the history of Mt. Fuji pilgrimages. Emerging around the 16th century, they offered comprehensive support to ascetics and pilgrims, which are called Fujiko, aspiring to ascend the spiritual mountain. Their services included preparing for the climb, providing meals, praying on behalf of the faithful, and offering their homes as lodging.

This tour is more than just a recreational climb—it is an opportunity to explore sites connected to the traditional pilgrimage route and embrace the spiritual essence of Mt. Fuji faith. This type of spiritual journey, known as pilgrimage mountain climbing, is called Tohai in Japan. The spirit of Tohai has been nurtured in the form of group mountaineering with others. Sharing the mountain experience with your companions reminds you of the truth that everyone is equal to nature. Enjoy the magical experience of a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the sacred mountain.

The movement was founded by Hasegawa Kakugyo, a Shinto priest who believed that Mount Fuji was the dwelling place of a divine spirit.
